China-Brazil Collaboration Expands Atmospheric Observation Network

Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Brazilian Institute of Energy and Nuclear Research (IPEN) signed a cooperation agreement on April 9th. The agreement focuses on expanding the The Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO) Atmospheric Observation Network to Brazil.

  • China's Einstein Probe Astronomical Satellite Captures Its First In-orbit Images

    China's Einstein Probe (EP) astronomical satellite, sent into space in January this year, has captured its first in-orbit detection images, which were presented at a parallel forum of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum in Beijing on Saturday. Inspired by the functions of lobster eyes, EP uses new X-ray detection technology to observe mysterious transient phenomena in the universe that flicker like fireworks.

  • Chinese Scientists Build 3D Model of 3-week Human Embryo

    Chinese scientists reconstructed a 3D model of a human embryo within two to three weeks after fertilization, which opens a new door into very early human embryonic development. The researchers from the Institute of Zoology, at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and China Agricultural University conducted high-resolution profiling on 38,562 gene spots of a human embryo and then constructed its 3D model by integrating gene expression patterns and spatial information.
